With over 200 nationalities in Dubai, you would think of seeing representative cuisines left and right of all the different cultures but just like all cosmopolitan cities, certain races and the class they acquire within the city tend to overtake the most visible spaces. Yet this also creates pockets within the city that are less visible and in turn more malleable by the residents that thrive within their own communities and slowly shape a neighborhood to become a piece of their homeland. These are the stories and experiences that Frying Pan Adventures shed light on in Dubai. From their tours in Old Dubai to little India, they uncover and connect histories between countries and cultures through food tastings. They allow the participant to experience culture not just through their taste buds but also through spatial formations of neighborhoods and emphasize how food creates space for identities to flourish.
